God’s assembly includes all his ‘holy ones’: angelic hosts as well as earthly saints. At Mount Sinai God was present with thousands of his angels as he assembled his people at his feet (Dt. 33:2–3; Ps. 68:17). The author of Hebrews draws the epiphany of God at Sinai to its more glorious conclusion.
